Djenné - Mali

On our way to the Dogon country. We made a stop and spent a day in Djenné. Amazing city with one of the biggest mosque of West Africa and a huge market which stands every monday.

To illustrate this post, the golden voice of Africa: Afro-pop singer Salif Keita who release one of the best african love song on the Lp Moffou (Universal Jazz) in 2002.

The track features Cesaria Evoria and is called Yamore. Enjoy!

After Mulatu Astatake with the Heliocentrics as a backing band, it's time for one of the greateast african sax to come with the Ex for a very great opus.
They were touring in France all together in 2007, the dutch post-punk band The Ex and Ethiopain jazz saxophonist Getatchew Mekuria.
